At OG Detailing it starts with a safe, gentle hand wash and dry, dedicated wheel and tire cleaning, and a clay-bar decontamination with iron removal to pull bonded contaminants out of the paint. From there we can polish to restore gloss, apply a paint sealant or wax for protection, and finish with tire shine and clean glass.
The difference from an automatic car wash is the whole point. A tunnel wash blasts the same spinning brushes across every vehicle that came before yours, dragging grit across your clear coat. A proper detail uses careful technique and soft, clean media so your paint comes out cleaner and safer than it went in, not scratched up for the sake of speed.
Why a hand wash beats the brush tunnel
Those automatic brushes are one of the most common causes of swirl marks and fine scratches in a vehicle’s finish. They recycle dirt and grit from the cars ahead of you and grind it into your paint, leaving the hazy, spider-web look you see in direct sunlight. A proper hand wash avoids all of that: a two-bucket method, gentle pre-soak, dedicated decontamination, and soft, clean wash media that lift dirt away instead of scrubbing it in.

Decontamination Wash
Everything in the express wash, plus a clay-bar decontamination and iron/fallout removal to strip bonded contaminants the soap can’t reach. This is what makes the paint feel glass-smooth again and is the proper prep before any polish or coating.
Full Exterior Detail
Our most complete exterior service: a thorough wash and decontamination, a one-step polish to enhance gloss and knock back light swirls, and a paint sealant for lasting protection. We can also add a dedicated rim and wheel-face deep clean, and for long-term protection you can step up to a ceramic coating instead of a sealant.
